Dr. Xu is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in advanced digital signal processing (DSP) and machine learning, focusing on their applications in biomedical engineering and human-centered AI systems. He received his Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Technological University Dublin in 2022, following a B.Eng. in Computer Science and Technology in 2016. He subsequently completed postdoctoral training in biomedical AI systems at the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics (2022–2024).

His core research interests include:

• Neuroengineering and brain-signal interpretation
• Trustworthy recommender systems
• AI for medical diagnosis and decision support
